Cross-skilling

Cross-skilling occurs when organizations onboard and train employees in multiple job functions and skillsets. By increasing the number of employees who can perform certain tasks, it mitigates the risk of lapses in operations and stalls in the supply chain. Job rotation programs enable employees to temporarily work and learn in multiple functions across the business and are one effective method for cross-skilling employees.
